The Skanda Purana says: "Puri is not a city. It is a state of being. When a person's ego dissolves completely — when they have no more pride of birth, wealth, knowledge or power — that person has already arrived in Puri..."
Embraced by the waves of the Bay of Bengal, Puri is the sacred abode of Lord Jagannath/ Krishna (said to be the Lord of the Universe). Jagannathji is also famous globally for its annual grand Rath Yatra.
